I have read the book Dark Life by Kat Falls over the summer. It is about a boy named Ty, the first person to be born deep undersea. The water levels of the ocean has rised and the coasts of the continents have been swallowed up. The is over population and little land space which leads to people finding a new life underwater. The people who live under the sea are called "pioneers". Each family lives in a giant bubble where they raise fish and plants to supply life on land. Life unerwater was normal until Ty met a girl named Gemma. Gemma and her brother used to live on land, until her brother was taken away to work in the sea. She goes into the ocean in search of her brother, but outlaws are pursuing her for some reason.
I think that this book shows a future where everything went wrong and people went in search of another place to live. I think that the author did a good job of showing how people felt. The characters seemed like real people, with emotions and understanding of each other. I think the theme of this story is that, even if life gets hard, you should not give up and try your best.
