Harry Potter Book 1

I have recently read Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone by J. K. Rowling. It is about a 11 year old boy who was accepted to learn at a magical school named Hogwarts. His parents died when he was a baby and he was sent to live with his aunt and uncle, the Dursleys . He was mistreated for 11 years and he finally had a chance to leave them when he received the letter of acceptance and was told who he really was. This book teaches us that life isn't how we expect it to be and that goals can be reached if you are not seeking to do horrible things to achieve it.

The first lesson that I noticed was that life can be different than what you believe it will turn out to be. For example, Harry was treated completely differently from his cousin Dudley because his relatives believed that Harry was different and it was right to discriminate him because of what he is. Harry believed his life would go on the way it has always been. He thought that his life would never change and he will always be having a dull unimportant life. But Harry was wrong. Unexpected things would happen and his whole life would change for the better. He will learn the truth about things and live a better life.

Another moral is that if you have a goal, you should try to achieve it in a way that is right. This means that to get what you want, you have to work hard for them. You should not be causing problems with others just to get what you want. Even though Harry's life has improved, there are obstacles that stand in his way and he has to solve them with his own efforts. If things are done like this, efforts will be repaid with satisfaction and happiness.
